A Foundation Built on the Word, Fueled by the Spirit, and Focused on Christ
This isn’t just a theological checklist. This is my life, my calling, my compass. It’s the heart behind every sermon, every pot of chili shared in fellowship, and every tear shed with someone on the edge of hope. My faith is rooted in the Word, shaped by grace, and lived out in community.
I come from a blend of non-denominational fire and Wesleyan depth. I believe in truth with tenderness, conviction with compassion, and theology with calloused hands and a ready heart. Below, you’ll find not only what I believe, but why it matters and how it shapes everything I do.
The Bible: Our Guide and God-Breathed GPS
I believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and living Word. It’s not just good advice – it’s the Voice that leads, corrects, encourages, and equips. I stand under its authority and rely on the Holy Spirit to illuminate it as we grow in grace and truth together.
Key Verses: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:105
The Triune God: Perfect Unity in Community
I believe in one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This divine relationship is not just a mystery, it’s a model – for marriage, ministry, and every bit of life. The Trinity is the blueprint for unity, love, and mission.
Key Verses: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:16–17
Jesus Christ: The Way, the Truth, the Life
Jesus is fully God, fully man, and the only way to salvation. He lived sinless, died sacrificially, rose victoriously, and reigns eternally. He’s not just who I preach; He’s why I breathe.
Key Verses: John 1:1–14; Romans 5:6–11; Acts 4:12
The Holy Spirit: Power, Presence, and Purpose
The Spirit still moves. He convicts, comforts, and empowers us to walk holy and serve boldly. I affirm all the gifts of the Spirit, used in order and under the authority of Scripture, to build up the Church and reach the world.
Key Verses: Acts 1:8; John 16:7–15; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11
Salvation: From the Inside Out
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It’s not about good behavior; it’s about new birth. The Gospel transforms hearts, not just habits. Salvation is a free gift, but it demands a surrendered life.
Key Verses: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Ezekiel 36:26
Sanctification & Heart Health
Holiness isn’t a finish line; it’s a journey. Sanctification is the Spirit’s daily work of aligning our heart with God’s. Outward obedience flows from inward transformation. I believe emotional and spiritual health go hand-in-hand with maturity in Christ.
Key Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Matthew 22:37–40
Humanity, Dignity, and Diversity
Every person is made in God’s image. All people matter. Period. The Gospel doesn’t discriminate, and neither should we. The Church must reflect the love, dignity, and justice of God in every relationship.
Key Verses: Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16
The Family and the Church
The family is the first church. When we build strong homes, we build strong churches. My philosophy? Pastor the home first, then the house of God. The Church is where the Gospel gets lived out, one messy, beautiful relationship at a time.
Key Verses: Ephesians 5:21–33; Joshua 24:15; Acts 2:42–47
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
I practice believer’s baptism by immersion. It’s a public sign of private transformation. The Lord’s Supper is a holy act of remembrance, unity, and renewal. I practice open communion for all professing believers walking in faith.
Key Verses: Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Evangelism and Missions
Evangelism isn’t a program. It’s a posture. Every believer is a missionary. I follow the Acts 1:8 model: start at home and go outward. My heroes? Wesley, Whitefield, Moody, Graham – giants who chased the lost with tears and truth.
Key Verses: Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18–20
The Gifts and the Church
Spiritual gifts aren’t trophies; they’re tools. I teach people to discover, develop, and deploy their gifts for Kingdom impact. Used rightly, they build up the Church and point to Jesus. Used wrongly, they distract.
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 12–14; Romans 12:4–8
Biblical Hospitality: Our Witness in Action
I believe hospitality is a spiritual weapon. It’s how we welcome the prodigal, feed the hungry, and remind people they still have a seat at the table. Hospitality isn’t optional; it’s Gospel culture.
Key Verses: Luke 14:12–14; Hebrews 13:2; Matthew 5:13–16
Church Life and Leadership
Polity: Congregational governance with servant leadership. Elders oversee, deacons serve, and pastors shepherd with humility, not hierarchy.
Growth: I value depth over hype. Discipleship > gimmicks.
Planting: I believe in multiplication through prayer, training, and Spirit-led leadership.
Staff: Ministry teams should feel like family, not boardrooms.
Practical Convictions
Divorce: God hates divorce, but loves the divorced. Restoration is real. Grace is greater.
Worship: Reverent and real. Old or new, the song must glorify God.
Money: Stewardship matters. Give cheerfully, lead transparently.
Dress: Come in your best. Everyone’s best looks different.
Prayer: Fuel, not filler.
Preaching: Expositional, Spirit-led, and soul-stirring.
Counseling: Grace-filled and truth-centered. Referrals when needed.
Education: I support home and Christian schooling. Discipleship starts early.
The Return of Christ
Jesus is coming back. Literally. Gloriously. Powerfully. And until He does, we work, we watch, and we wait with hope. We live like eternity matters because it does.
Key Verses: 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; Revelation 21:1–5
In Summary
I believe ministry starts in the heart, flows into the home, and reaches the world. I pastor like a shepherd, lead like a servant, and preach like a man who knows what grace tastes like. My calling is to raise up disciples, strengthen families, and build a Church that looks more like Jesus than a brand.
Let’s build something holy. Let’s love loud, live boldly, and never forget Who we’re doing it for.
