About Me

The Man Behind the Table
Hey there, I’m Andrew Gantt, and I’m all about the moments that happen around a table. Whether it’s a family dinner where chaos is served as the main course, a quiet coffee conversation with a side of heart-to-heart, or handing a plate of food to someone who didn’t see it coming, hospitality is where the magic happens. You could say I’m a bit of a “kitchen apostle”—because to me, food isn’t just something we eat. It’s connection, love, and, honestly, sometimes a little bit of bribery to get people to stay a little longer.

I grew up in the hills of Vermont, the middle child of six (yeah, the one who always had to fight for attention). My family was all about big meals and bigger personalities. My grandmother, a life long service industry worker, taught me that food made with heart could heal just about anything—even if her biscuits were a little more like charcoal than carbs. I’ll tell you though, that sweet tea of hers? It could probably double as syrup, but we drank it anyway. That’s the spirit I grew up with—food’s meant to nourish the body, yes, but also to nurture the soul.

Fast forward to today, and life’s taken me from the snow-covered hills of Vermont to the sunny streets of Savannah, Georgia, where I now get to pour into my family and community. My high school sweetheart (who I’m lucky enough to still call my wife) and our three kids have embraced Southern life, and I’ve been working to perfect my craft in the kitchen, pushing bold flavors and big heart into every dish. And trust me, when I’m cooking, it’s a journey of joy, heart, and spice—lots of spice.

Along the way, I’ve learned some pretty profound lessons in the kitchen and in life, a lot of them from my spiritual grandparents, Juanita and Ken Lane, who ran a food ministry at our home church. Those years spent helping in the soup kitchen taught me how to feed not only the body but also the spirit. A can of beans may seem simple, but when you pour love into it, it’s more than just food—it’s a meal that feeds people’s souls. I still carry that lesson with me today, and it’s at the heart of this blog.

Here’s the thing: real hospitality isn’t about perfect plating or matching napkins. It’s about creating a space where people feel seen, loved, and fed—in every sense of the word. It’s about making someone feel like they belong, whether they’re sharing a five-course meal or a simple PB&J. And it’s about how we reflect God’s heart for hospitality in a world where locking the door and pretending we’re not home seems easier.

So why this ministry? Because I believe that biblical hospitality isn’t just a concept—it’s an invitation. From the epic feasts in Scripture to the small, daily kindnesses we can offer, I want to unpack what it means to “come as you are” and extend God’s table to others. I want to share stories, meals, and a little humor to show how food—simple, humble food—can bring us closer to one another and to God.

Whether you’re here for bold flavors, a laugh, or a little inspiration on how to welcome others to your table, my hope is that you’ll feel encouraged to open your doors and your hearts a little wider. Let’s cook, eat, and learn together—because the best conversations happen when there’s food on the table and grace in the air. And trust me, there’s always room at the Father’s table.
